TUTTLE, Oklahoma -

The town of Tuttle is "going back to the future." A group of volunteers is giving Tuttle something it hasn't had in 50 years.

"Friends of the Tuttle Public Library" is a non-profit group that has been working for more than four years to make a library a reality.

Tuttle is the state's largest town that doesn't have a library. But in a partnership with the city, some federal grant money and a lot of volunteers' elbow grease, Tuttle's new library will soon open in a historic building at 305 W. Main Street.

"We've had a lot of people give us money and do a lot of volunteer work to make this a reality," Friends of the Library President, Jane Bryant, said Monday afternoon.

Volunteers are working right now to clean and sort 10,000 new and used books that will be available in the library.

Also this Saturday at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Tuttle, there will be an electronics recycling event. Any working or non-working electronics brought to the church will be turned over to a Texas company that will recycle it. Proceeds will go to the Tuttle Library.
