Broken Arrow Woman Claims Husband Choked Her After Argument

Broken Arrow police arrested a man after his wife said he beat and choked her after an argument about money.

Police arrested James Hooper after they responded to a domestic assault call early Saturday morning.

The victim said she and Hooper were arguing about money he had lent her. She said Hooper became angry after she insulted his girlfriend. She said he pushed her, hit her in the face and began to choke her.

The woman said Hooper let go when she attempted to bite him and ran upstairs where she followed. She said their 10-year-old child was awake and screaming them to stop.

The woman said she followed Hooper to her bedroom where she claims Hooper punched her in the lip, pushed her against the window and continued to punch and kick her until she fell to the floor.

She said Hooper then left with her cell phone. According to the report, the woman then ran to her neighbor's and called police.

Hooper is being held at the Tulsa County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He has a court date scheduled for April 28th.
