A woman died in a car wreck Friday evening after her vehicle collided with a truck in an uncontrolled intersection.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the collision occurred at 6:42 p.m. Friday, four and a half miles west of U.S. Highway 81 in Kingfisher County.

According to OHP, 51-year-old Sandra Jean Brooks of Hennessey was traveling northbound on County Road NS2820, and 25-year-old Brandon Scott Shepard of Enid was headed westbound on Exxon Road. The two vehicles collided in the uncontrolled intersection.

Officials said Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene from head and trunk internal injuries. Shepard was not injured in the collision.

As stated in the preliminary report, the cause of the collision was "failure to yield to vehicle on the right." The report also states that Brooks was wearing a seatbelt, but the airbags were not equipped. Shepard was not wearing a seatbelt, but the airbags were equipped and deployed.

The Kingfisher County Sheriff's Office, Hennessey Police Department and Hennessey Fire Department assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol with this investigation.
