A forensic team from the state medical examiner's office searched an area about 25 feet behind a mobile home in Twin Oaks on Friday.

Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore said a drug and stolen property investigation led them to the location and the possibility of finding a body.

"One of those interviews disclosed the fact that the person involved may have killed somebody and buried them in the backyard here," Moore said.

Investigators thought the body of Dustin Carver may be buried in a shallow grave behind the house.

Dustin Carver from nearby Kansas, Oklahoma, was last seen about a month ago.

"He was known to hang out here, or in this area," Moore said.

While looking into the drug and stolen property case, investigators saw something that prompted them to get another search warrant to excavate part of the property.

"We executed a search warrant for the property and drugs and the we saw the was a mound of dirt that was suspicious," Moore said.

Two cadaver dogs also hit on the site, indicating a body could be buried there.

The area was cordoned off and considered a crime scene.

Delaware County called in the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

"They have the expertise and equipment and all that stuff at the state level to help us, and we're very thankful for that," Moore said.

While no remains were found, the owner of the trailer is still considered a person of interest in the case, but hasn't been arrested.

"We have information they did know each other," Moore said.
