OKLAHOMA CITY -

A routine traffic stop yields a big bust for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office. A deputy used his K9 to search the car and they found over a pound of meth hidden inside.

Two suspects were booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, a married couple from Duncan.

"You know in law enforcement, what we say is there is no such thing as routine because just when you think something is going to be routine, something like this happen," said Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mark Myers.

It was near the intersection of NW 63rd and May on Tuesday afternoon where an Oklahoma County Deputy pulled over Duncan couple 51-year-old Eugene and 32-year-old Kira Snyder for failing to use a signal twice. The Snyders told the deputy they were headed to Bricktown to see a friend.

"While speaking with them, really their stories just didn't add up," Myers said.

The deputy said Kira Snyder was nervous and started shaking uncontrollably, so he asked her if there was anything illegal in the car, she said so no and gave the deputy permission to search her gray KIA Sorrento.

The deputy put his K9 Axo on the job.

"And Axo did what we call an open-air sniff, and he alerted the deputy that there could be a presence of drugs inside the car," Myers said.

They found a pound and a half of meth tucked in a purse underneath the passenger side floorboard.

"I'm not sure if they were traveling back home or traveling somewhere else with those drugs, but we're just glad we got this poison off our streets."

Myers says both Snyders face charges of trafficking meth and possession of drug proceeds.

The deputy found $5,431 on the driver and says the meth was worth about $30,000 in street value.
