Tulsa Police: Man Shoots Girlfriend During Argument

Police arrested a Tulsa man after a shooting in an east Tulsa apartment early Thursday.

Police said it happened at about 2 a.m. at the Cimarron Apartments in the 13000 block of East 31st Street.

Marcel Stewart, 20, got into a fight with a woman he was dating, according to police.

Officers said Stewart shot the victim in the shoulder. The victim told officers Marcel told her to tell police she had shot herself. EMSA took her to the hospital. Police said she is expected to be okay.

Police booked Marcel Stewart into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

Jail records show he has a court appearance set for Thursday.
