Posted: Updated:

Energy FC dropped a 1-0 decision to the FC Dallas reserves Tuesday evening at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Energy FC fell to 2-2-0 on the year, while the FC Dallas reserves moved to 3-0-0.

The teams played a scoreless first half despite FC Dallas having two goals called back due to offside calls. The key moment for Energy FC in the first half came in the 38th minute when FC Dallas was awarded a penalty kick. Jon Kempin made a highlight reel save to turn away Brian Span's penalty shot to keep the game scoreless.

FC Dallas broke through in the 53rd minute as Andrew Jacobson scored the game's only goal. Brian Span, on loan to FC Dallas from Orlando City SC, had the goal's assist that gave FC Dallas the 1-0 lead.

Energy FC had several scoring opportunities and fought in the game's final minutes, and Michael Thomas was denied by Raul Fernandez on a penalty shot in the 90th minute.

Energy FC is back in action on Saturday, April 26 against Orlando City SC. Game time from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School's Pribil Stadium is 7 p.m.
