OKLAHOMA CITY -

A man was arrested after police say he burglarized a car in Oklahoma City, and assaulted officers who were trying to arrest him.

According to police, at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the report of an auto burglary at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Brookwood Drive. A woman told police that someone broke into her neighbor's car and stole several items. She said when the suspect saw her, he dropped some items behind an A/C unit and took off.

About 10 minutes later, an officer located a man matching the suspect description. After a lengthy foot chase through the complex, officers took the man, later identified as 23-year-old Cody Bailey, into custody.

According to police, Bailey attacked the officers while they were trying to arrest him. The officers had to use a Taser on him to get him under control.

After being medically cleared at the hospital, Bailey was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on charges of auto burglary and assault and battery on police officers.

Bailey also had two warrants out of Tulsa County for assault and battery on a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
