Suspicious Suitcase On UCO Campus Deemed Safe

EDMOND, Oklahoma -

A suspicious suitcase found Monday morning on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma has been deemed safe.

According to Edmond police, at about 8 a.m., a suitcase was found in a parking lot on campus near University Drive and 2nd Street. As a precaution, the Nigh University Center was evacuated.

All area parking lots and roads were cleared and blocked. Edmond police, UCO Campus Police, and a bomb squad responded to the scene.

Authorities gave the all-clear at about 10 a.m. Police did not say what was found in the suitcase, but they said it was not dangerous.
