Saturday in the park turns to gunfire and paramedics. One person was shot and another run over during a gathering in Washington Park in Northeast Oklahoma City.

Police say the park was filled with several hundred people, but after about five gunshots went off, everyone scattered, and no one said they saw the shooter.

What started out as a fun, massive BBQ at Washington Park at Northeast 4th St. and High Ave. quickly turned into chaos when someone started shooting.

"I was scared I was really scared," said witness, Caprisha Kirk. "I didn't know what to do. I didn't know where the gunshots were coming from, so I'm thinking like am I about to die?"

Kirk said she heard of the BBQ on Twitter and came with a friend for the free food until she heard the DJ tell everyone to duck.

"All I saw were people running, so that's why I started running."

Kirk says everyone fled to their cars, so fast one woman was hit by a truck and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Jeremy Bueckers has lived across the street from the park for four years and said he heard the gunshots from his house.

"There were cars that were lined up all the way down the street, so it was a huge group of people," Bueckers said. "There were a lot of cars driving off, and there were a few small tussles afterwards, and then the cops showed up and started taking people away."

Police cars swarmed the scene and believe there were at least three shooters, but only one victim.

"I don't know if this was an intended victim of the shooting or if this happened to be an innocent bystander just in the wrong place at the wrong time in the park, but he was very uncooperative and said he had no idea who shot him," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Arthur Gregory.

Gregory says they do not have any suspect description at this time, but are talking to a few witnesses. Police say both people who were hurt had non-life threating injuries.

Bueckers said out of all the man gatherings and sporting events at the park, there has never been anything violent.

"This is kind of surprising. It's unfortunate you know because for a park that has such a good reputation of being a place to have fun that people now will have this in their memory."
