Your 2 Cents: Second Shooting At Fort Hood

Posted: Updated:

I told you I'm stunned that there was no armed soldier at Fort Hood who could stop the shooter who went on a rampage last week. It took 15 minutes for military police to catch up to the guy. I think more soldiers on military bases need to be armed to keep this from happening again. Here's what you have to say.

Shari first: "I agree with you Kelly. If you were gonna rob a bank, would you do it if all the employees were armed?"

And Tom writes: "We have the right to bear arms and to protect ourselves, rights stripped away from our current enlisted personnel."

Mike disagrees: "I served over 26 years and I am still for only the MPs or APs being the only one armed on the Post/Base."

And Wolff says: "You should ask where are the MP's and what took them so long? There should have been some MP's there in seconds."

From Jonanthan: "These cowards that shoot up gun-free zones always respond and cease their actions after one thing: confrontation with an equal or greater amount of force."

And David adds: "It takes a special kind of stupid to believe a gun-free zone is going to protect innocent people."

Farron writes: "I totally agree allow more soldiers to carry on base to protect the others."

And finally, from Wendy: "They should allow concealed carry weapons on base. Otherwise, give all your staff bulletproof vests. Right now they are just sitting ducks."

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's YOUR 2 Cents.
