Oklahoma City area fire crews were up most of the night battling multiple fires. They responded to the first fire near S.E. 59th and Harrah Road, and a second on S.E. 89th and Shields.

Two people were inside when their home at S.E. 59th and Harrah Road caught on fire late Wednesday night. Firefighters believe it started in a bedroom and spread quickly. It's likely because of an electrical problem, but they're going to look into the exact cause.

There aren't' any fire hydrants there, so the engines had to bring in water.

The two were able to escape without injuries. Battalion Chief Chris Dowdin says it was because their smoke detector woke them up.

"Just a reminder that to check your smoke detector, make sure you have a working smoke detector, because it did wake them up and allowed them to get out of the house," Dowdin said.

Meanwhile, another fire at a garage attached to a home at S.E. 89th and Shields kept firefighters busy as well.

Firefighters were able to put out that fire. They do not think it's suspicious at this time.

No one was injured in this fire.
