A Logan County pastor pleads guilty to lewd acts with a child, and it's not his first time.

True Life Ministries Pastor, David Moore was convicted of the sex crime early Monday morning.

As a convicted sex offender, Moore was restricted from interacting with children, but court papers indicated he dismissed those regulations and went even further.

A 12-year-old girl told investigators Moore rubbed her feet and legs, made her and another girl watch pornography and stay at his Guthrie home last month.

He was also accused of getting the girls drunk. The child said it made her feel uncomfortable.

Pat Damron works for the Oklahoma City Care Center, a non-profit that conducts forensic interviews with child abuse victims. She said sex offenders tend to revert to their criminal ways.

"It's difficult to know that children in our society have to deal with these kinds of abuses," said Damron. "I think punishment is one thing, but I think treatment is another."

According to court papers, Moore did receive therapy after his conviction for lewd acts with a child in 2002. Neither that nor his current role as a pastor at True Life Ministries in Guthrie prevented him from reoffending, even though, he apparently knew what he was doing was wrong.

Court papers indicate Moore warned his victim, "Don't tell your dad, or you will get me in trouble," but that's exactly what she did.

"With intervention, with counseling, with a supportive family, these children will grow up and be just fine," Damron said.

Moore was sentenced to seven years in prison for lewd acts with a child, providing alcohol to minors and violating the sex offender registration act.
