The Blake Bell tight end experiment will have to wait until the fall to be completely realized.

Sources confirmed to News 9 that Bell will miss the remainder of spring practice, as well as next Saturday's spring game, with a knee injury. The injury is not believed to be serious and Bell is expected to be ready to go for fall practice.

SoonerScoop.com was first to report the injury.

Bell switched to tight end for his senior season rather than transfer and be eligible immediately to play quarterback. Coach Bob Stoops and others had praised Bell for how quickly he was adapting to the position.

Bell made the switch thanks to quarterback Trevor Knight's impressive performance against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, which effectively ended Bell's chances of being the starting quarterback in 2014.
