COLCORD, Oklahoma -

Delaware County authorities say a Colcord school was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a fifth grade student threatened to shoot his teacher.

Colcord Police Chief Lenden Woodruff said the principal called police after the 8 a.m. incident outside the school.

Woodruff told the Delaware County Journal his department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Delaware County Sheriff's Office went to the student's home and took the boy into custody.

He said a search of the home and the school turned up no gun.

"We performed a thorough search but didn't find anything," Police Chief Lenden Woodruff said.

School officials said the teacher who had been threatened was sent home for the day.

The newspaper reported authorities said the boy could face a charge of making a terrorist threat.

"That would be up to the District Attorney's office, said Chief Lenden Woodruff.
