PORTER, Oklahoma -

The murder of a man in Porter is leaving a family grieving and in turmoil as two nephews are accused in the shooting death of their uncle. One suspect is a highly decorated combat veteran.

Shortly after five Tuesday evening, a Wagoner County deputy on patrol in Porter heard gunshots coming from inside the house, and immediately responded.

"Was literally a couple hundred yards from the residence where the shooting took place," said Sheriff Bob Colbert.

Wagoner County's Sheriff said two brothers, Skyler and Maxx Robinson, went to the home to talk to their uncle. The situation escalated, and 57-year-old Bill Cline was shot and killed.

"We all encourage to let the police, deputies, or whatever, to handle these situations, instead of trying to take them into your own hands because nothing ever good comes out of it," Colbert said.

Deputies arrested Maxx Robinson, who is charged with first degree murder. His older brother, Skyler, is charged with obstruction and accessory to murder. Both are being held in the Wagoner County jail without bond.

Maxx Robinson served in the Oklahoma National Guard from 2008 until this past January 30th, earning a purple heart, bronze star with valor, and army commendation medal after an attack where he killed two attackers and treated two fellow wounded soldiers.

"To me personally, as a veteran, it's kind of sad. Now we've lost a veteran to something senseless and now we have a young veteran that has ruined his life," said Colbert.

Family members didn't want to be on camera, but said the victim, Bill Cline, who went by Bob, was fun loving, non-violent and loved children.

He was also disabled with kidney problems.

Investigators are still in the process of interviewing family members to find out what kind of disagreement led to the shooting.
