THE VILLAGE, Oklahoma -

Several residents escaped through a window when their house in The Village caught on fire early Wednesday morning.

According to the fire department, just before 1 a.m., crews responded to the fire at a home in the 2400 block of Erin Place, which is near Penn. and Britton.

Those living in the home told us they escaped through a window after the smoke detector started going off. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Fire officials believe the fire started in a converted garage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
