Tulsa Police Check On Baby's Welfare, Find Meth Lab

Three people are in jail, accused of operating meth lab in a West Tulsa home with an eight-month-old child inside.

Police identify the three suspects as Maria Floyd, 23; Lowery Irby, 26; and Ellis McDougall, 49. they say Floyd is the baby's mother.

Police arrested them in the home in the 400 block of South 43rd West Avenue at 2:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon. 

A police report stated officers were sent to the home at the request of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to check on the welfare of the baby.

Police said they smelled a chemical odor when they arrived and after being allowed inside, a found meth lab components in the laundry room.

They booked Irby, McDougall and Floyd into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of child neglect and endeavoring to manufacture a drug.

Jail records show bond for each was $50,500 with a court appearance set for March 28, 2014.

Police placed the baby into protective custody of the DHS.
