OKC Woman Allegedly Uses Facebook In Attempt To Hire Hitman

A potentially deadly Facebook plot has been foiled.

Oklahoma City police say a love-scorned woman used social media to put out a hit on her ex-boyfriend, and Oklahoma County prosecutors have now charged the woman with soliciting for murder.

It's not uncommon for people to vent their daily frustrations through postings on different social media sites, but one local father was taken aback when he spotted a murder-for-hire scheme on his own Facebook page.

"Dunno who could come up on me at any time and try to take my life away," said Adrian Davis.

Davis says it took only one look at Facebook for him to turn his attention elsewhere.

"I was kind of looking over my shoulder," Davis said.

Davis says he noticed his ex-girlfriend, Shamanda Williams, wanted him dead.

Court papers show that Williams posted this to Facebook: "$500 to whoever can help dismiss this boy" and "this n**** need to be shot in the head in front of the b**** who made him."

"Kinda makes it seem like she don't think my life is worth that much," said Davis. "If she is offering $500 to take me out."

Davis claims his life is worth much more than that because he's currently raising their daughter. So he and his mother tooks a number of the threatening Facebook posts to Oklahoma City police.

"I really didn't know what frame of mind she is in," explained Thurrayah Davis, Adrian's mother. "I took those very seriously, I mean, you never know who is going to do what or say what or take her up on the offer."

Investigators interviewed Williams, who allegedly admitted that her Facebook post was for a contract killing of Davis. Accordingly, prosecutors charged her with a felony for soliciting murder.

"I didn't want that to happen to her," said Mrs. Davis. "But I do need her to understand you can't make threats like that and get away with it. So other people need to take it as an example too."

Adrian Davis feels the same way. He filed a victims protection order against Williams, but says she gave him no choice but to protect himself and his family.

"Hopefully, she learned her lesson after all of this is done -- hopefully," said Davis.

At last check, Williams had not yet been arrested on the charges. Her attorney has not responded to a request for comment.
