Accident Involving Semi Snarls Traffic On I-44 NB In NW OKC

Posted: Updated:

Traffic was backed up on parts of Interstate 44 in northwest Oklahoma City, due to a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck Thursday morning.

According to Oklahoma City police, crews responded to a 4-vehicle collision in the northbound lanes of I-44 near N.W. 23rd Street. The semi involved in the collision was leaking radiator fluid.

At one point, crews had to shut down two northbound lanes of Interstate 44 as they worked to clear the scene.

The lanes are now back open. Traffic was backed up in the area. As of 10 a.m., it is moving smoothly again.

Two people have been transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
