Two Killed; Two Hurt After Car Slams Into NW OKC Building

Two people were killed and two others hurt after a car slammed into a building Thursday morning in northwest Oklahoma City.

Two people were killed and two others hurt after a car slammed into a building Thursday morning in northwest Oklahoma City. 

According to police, at about 2 a.m., a car hit a vacant building on the northwest corner of N.W. 23rd Street and N. Shartel Avenue.

Firefighters had to use special equipment to free some of the victims who were trapped in the car. 

Two passengers, later identified as 21-year-old Victor Truong and 20-year-old Timothy Tran,  died on the scene. 

The unidentified driver and another passenger, 22-year-old Thomas Tran, were rushed to area hospitals, according to officers on the scene. Both are listed in critical condition.

The driver's identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

Police say the area near the accident scene was closed for several hours.  The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
