Crash Kills Motorcycle Rider Near Bartlesville

A Bartlesville man died when his westbound motorcycle hit a pickup on Highway 75 south of Bartlesville Monday evening, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and County Road 2400 at 8:35 p.m.

The OHP said Brett Hulsey, 47, was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson on County Road 2400 when he tried to cross the highway. Troopers said he hit a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado that was northbound on Highway 75.

Hulsey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the driver of the pickup -- Joshua Compton, 28 -- also of Bartlesville was not injured.

The trooper's report stated Hulsey failed to yield at a stop sign. The OHP report stated Compton was not wearing a helmet.
