Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested two brothers on drug and child endangerment charges, after they stopped their vehicle and found marijuana and two toddlers inside.

According to the Sheriff's office, on Friday, a deputy saw a vehicle making an illegal lane change on S.E. 29th Street near Town Center Drive. He tried to pull over the car, but the driver continued traveling for about half a mile before stopping.

The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Simerr Laviolette, did not have a driver's license, and gave the deputy an incorrect name and date of birth. The deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana, and also found two toddlers under the age of 3 inside the vehicle.

The children were not properly restrained.

During the investigation, the deputy determined that Laviolette was driving with a revoked license, and he did not have insurance.

Laviolette's passenger, 24-year-old Teari Laviolette, was seen trying to move something inside of the car, according to the Sheriff's office. Teari was also seen tossing what was believed to have been marijuana out of the car.

Deputies say they found several plastic bags with marijuana hidden in the suspects' socks and shoes. Two digital scales were also recovered inside of the car.

According to the Sheriff's office, Simerr Laviolette admitted to the deputy that he and his brother Teari had been smoking marijuana.

When the two children were taken out of the vehicle, deputies say they could smell marijuana in their hair and clothing. The children were turned over to a relative.

Both Laviolette brothers were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, child endangerment, obstructing an officer, and maintaining a vehicle where drugs are kept.

Additionally, Simerr Laviolette faces several other charges, including DUI - drugs and no insurance.
