Tulsa Police: Driver Loses Wheel In Hit And Run, Keeps Going

Police arrested a driver who they say was determined to leave the scene of a crash.

Police said a Dodge pickup was heading east when it hit a black Scion SUV waiting for a red light at Admiral and Memorial at about 7 a.m.

Police said the pickup kept going, losing its right front wheel and tire at Memorial and I-244. It came to a stop when the driver tried to turn left at Latimer Place and 78th East Avenue.

Another driver who witnessed the wreck called 911, followed the truck and waited nearby until police arrived.

EMSA took one person in the Scion to the hospital complaining of leg pain.

Police arrested both people in the truck. No word on whether they were injured.
