A woman, arrested in Edmond for DUI with her 4-year-old daughter in the car, has also been charged with bringing contraband into a jail.

According to Edmond police, at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, an officer stopped a vehicle that was speeding while going northbound on Broadway near 11th Street.

The officer said he could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Kendra Shalay Thomas. Police said Thomas' eyes were red and watery, and her speech was slurred. She admitted that she had been drinking earlier and that she did not have a license or insurance on the car.

According to police, Thomas' 4-year-old daughter was also inside the vehicle. When the officer asked Thomas to step out of the car, police said Thomas was unsteady on her feet, and the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from her breath and person.

Thomas also reportedly failed the field sobriety tests. A breathalyzer test measured her BAC at .18. The legal limit is .08.

Thomas was then arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail. During the booking process, an officer discovered that Thomas had six vials hidden in her vagina. Four of the vials were empty, and two of them had a liquid substance later determined as PCP.

Thomas now faces several charges, including DUI, child endangerment, possession of CDS and bringing contraband into jail. Police said she was previously arrested for DUI and her driver's license was suspended.
