The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Bartlesville woman died after rolling her car into a Washington County creek Sunday evening.

Troopers said the car was westbound on a county road south of Bartlesville when Sherry Hockett, 44, went left of center on a curve and met an oncoming car, which caused her to jerk the steering wheel, run off the road then slide back across the road. They said the car then hit a guardrail and rolled over coming to rest on its top in a creek.

The OHP says Hockett was pinned in the 2007 Toyota Corolla for 13 minutes. She was pronounced dead at the scene from what the OHP said was possible drowning.

Her husband, Rusty Hockett, 45, a passenger in the car refused treatment at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
