CASHION, Oklahoma -

Next Saturday, the town of Cashion will celebrate the start of the spring season with a day-long festival full of food, fun and family-friendly activities.

The Color Me Spring Festival raises money for the Cashion Community Relations and Beautification Fund, and this year's proceeds will go to main street road improvements, lamp posts and new sidewalks.

The festival kicks off with a breakfast and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. This year's festival includes a new event, the Color Me Spring 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run, which will start at 9 a.m. After the run, community members and visitors have the opportunity to donate blood at the Cashion Fire Station. The blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. While at the fire station, participants can enjoy face painting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a Chili Cook-Off and station tours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The festival continues on Main Street from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with food, door prizes, craft vendors, a Chicken Plop, flower sales and more. The final event of the day is dancing and food on Main Street from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

For festival booth entry information, contact the Cashion Town Hall at 405-433-2243 or Jennifer Firgard at 405-433-3016.
