Crews Put Out House Fire In Southwest OKC

Firefighters have put out a house fire Friday morning in southwest Oklahoma City.

According to the fire department, crews responded to the house fire in the 8600 block of S. Drexel Ave., which is near the Oklahoma City Community College campus.

The fire was reported by several neighbors shortly after 6:30 a.m.

Firefighters on the scene reported seeing heavy flames coming out of the home.

Crews were able to put out the fire. Fire officials say the fire started in the bedroom of the home, where a resident was smoking in bed with her oxygen on.

Two people were treated at the scene and transported to the hospital.
