The Tulsa Police Department says a man whose body was found in a vacant lot in mid-September 2013 was a homicide victim.

Police said the decomposing body of Terrance Washington, 36, was found by a contractor mowing the lot in the 4900 block of North Peoria.

Detectives said the state Medical Examiner's office has not completed its investigation but say information released by the ME's Office so far "is enough for Tulsa Police to classify Washington's death as a homicide."

Police said investigators have yet to identify a motive or suspect in the case. They believe Washington was killed nine days before he was found on September 18, 2013.

Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with Washington during the Labor Day weekend to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
