New Bricktown Restaurant/Bar Opens Monday

Deep Deuce Bricktown just added another player in the attempt to attract visitors and residents downtown.

The Urban Johnnie opened Friday night for a "soft opening." The upscale bar/restaurant opens for the general public on Monday.

Co-Owner Rick Haynes said the menu will be large and upscale. He said brunch on Saturday and Sundays starts at 10 a.m.

Urban Johnnie is on the ground floor of Level Urban Apartments, located at 123 N.E. 2nd St. and Walnut.

Haynes' father Johnnie opened the first of seven "Johnnie's" burger restaurants in the metro Oklahoma City area 43 years ago.

He said he's grateful to be in Deep Deuce.

"We could have put this in any part of the Oklahoma City area, but we chose right here," he said.
