Rollover Accident Kills 1 In Norman

NORMAN, Oklahoma -

One adult is dead after a rollover accident in Norman early Saturday morning.

At 2:39 a.m. Saturday morning, Norman police responded to a one-car accident in the 8000 block of N.E. Indian Hills Rd.

Police said they found the vehicle on the north shoulder, engulfed in flames.

According to preliminary reports, officials said the driver was traveling eastbound on Indian Hills Rd. and lost control. Reasons why the driver lost control are unknown. The vehicle veered off onto the north shoulder, rolled and caught fire. 

Oklahoma University Police Department's Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team is assisting the Norman Police Department with the investigation. The Norman Fire Department assisted at the scene by extinguishing the fire.

The driver's identity has not been determined at this time.
