Son Accused Of Abusing Elderly Mother In SW OKC

A man was arrested for attacking his elderly mother in their S.W. Oklahoma City home last Sunday morning.

On February 23, Oklahoma City police responded to a domestic abuse call in the 2200 block of S.W. 60th St.

The arrest report stated the daughter, who lives in Alabama, contacted authorities with information about her 92-year-old mother, who had just been beaten by her son.

According to police, 65-year-old Ronald Hainey arrived at the home around 4 a.m. intoxicated and started screaming at his mother. When Hainey stepped outside, the mother locked the front door and went to her bedroom. Hainey became angrier after the mother would not let him back inside the house.

In the report, the mother told police Hainey kicked in the door, came into her bedroom and threatened to kill her. She said Hainey then starting punching her, grabbed her arm, pulled her from bed and continued punching her. The moment Hainey left her alone, she called her daughter in Alabama.

In relation to the report, police said Hainey admitted to being high on Xanax and marijuana, and marijuana was found in his bedroom.

Hainey was charged with Domestic Abuse, Assault and Battery and Possession of Marijuana and booked in the Oklahoma County jail.
