A car thief is caught on camera with an appetite for more than high-priced vehicles.

It's not every day someone who's just stolen a very expensive car actually slows down for some fast food. But, in this case, police say that's exactly what happened.

"It's just kind of silly," Billy Hare said after learning the person who stole his Cadillac Escalade went through a drive thru. "Hopefully it will be his downfall in the case."

During the weekend of Feb. 14, Hare said someone broke into his home near SW 104th & Penn and stole the keys to his Cadillac Escalade and 1968 Chevy Camaro. With the help of OnStar, the Escalade was recovered quickly at a hotel near I-40 and Meridian. The Camaro is still missing.

"I was looking for evidence and there was a receipt," Hare said.

Hare said the receipt was to a fast food restaurant and had a date stamp that coincided with the day the cars were stolen. Police say that receipt led to them to more evidence.

"The restaurants have surveillance cameras and we were able to get a good look at the suspect," said OCPD Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

The suspect seen on the video driving Hare's stolen Escalade has yet to be found and neither has Hare's 1968 Camaro.

"It's one my son in law and I built together," Hare said the Camaro is worth $85,000, but also has a lot of sentimental value. He is determined to get it back

If you have any information call OCPD Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. You could be eligible for a cash reward.
