Former Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard DeAndre Liggins has resurfaced, signing a 10-day contract with the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Liggins could potentially bolster an aging and injury-plagued wing position for Miami, namely spelling Shane Battier and Ray Allen.

The 6-foot-6 Liggins is averaging 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA Development League and was named a D-League All-Star.

"The type of things he does, we like," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "So this gives us an opportunity to look at him for a few days. "(Sioux Falls) liked him just in terms of his defensive disposition, his activity. He's a combo guard, so for them he had to play two or three positions. He's a good rebounder, defender, can handle the ball and run your offense at times."

Liggins played in 39 games for the Thunder last season before the organization waved him in September following an arrest for domestic violence.

His felony charges have since been dropped but he is still facing misdemeanor charges in Oklahoma County.

The Kentucky product has career NBA averages of 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.2 minutes per game.
