It was a day of remembrance for an Oklahoma family whose son gave the ultimate sacrifice.

U.S. Army Spc. Adam Noel Brewer was killed in action in February 2005, just two weeks before his second tour in Iraq ended. He was 22.

At the Masonic Lodge in Bartlesville on Sunday, the Blue Star Mothers of America held a memorial ceremony to honor Brewer's life, his service and his sacrifice.

Brewer was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment based at Fort Hood, Texas.

A 2000 graduate of Bartlesville High School, he joined the military shortly after graduating with hopes of becoming a police officer one day.
