NORMAN, Oklahoma -

The Choctaw woman arrested last May for scaling a 12-foot-tall barb wire fence at Tinker Air Force Base, then taking photographs in a restricted area is dealing with more problems.

According to her attorney, now 29-year-old Jamie Dawn Furche used to have high-level security clearance at Tinker, where she worked for six years as a civilian in program analysis. She was fired after her arrest for misdemeanor "intruding" last May.

Last month, OU's Physics Department hired Furche as low-level "Managerial Associate."  On Thursday, News 9 received a call from another employee in that department. That anonymous caller said several employees weren't comfortable with Furche's hiring.

News 9's Steve Shaw immediately contacted an OU Spokesperson Thursday afternoon, who got back to him at 5:03 p.m. on Friday, saying "Jamie Dawn Furche" is not currently an OU employee.

Furche's attorney, Laura Deskin, says the whole thing is a sham. She says Furche has paid for her past transgressions. She's been to counseling, and has jumped through all the legal hoops she had to jump through.

"She was never told she was doing a bad job. It is my understanding that her supervisor was pleased with her and then somebody raises a stink and calls Channel 9 and she is fired like that? [it] doesn't seem right."

Deskin says Furche also never lied to OU during the hiring process.

"Do you not believe in second chances? She had not to my knowledge done anything wrong."

Deskin says Furche's misdemeanor charge in Oklahoma County is scheduled to be dismissed next Thursday.
