ENID, Oklahoma -

A great grandmother glances out the front door of her home in Enid waiting for a special delivery.

"We always get something from the postman," Helen Klein has celebrated 83 Valentine's Days, so, it's safe to say she is expecting something again this year.

"On Valentine's, it's nice to get something besides bills," Klein said.

For Klein, Valentine's Day Cards are not about the words but about the hearts.

"I think about the people that sent them to me," Klein added.

It's evident by her kitchen table covered with cards from years past.

"They were so fancy," Klein described.

Her favorites are the oldest cards dating back to the 1890s, undoubtedly a difficult decision, when her collections consists of more than 100 cards.

She has cards from the turn of the century with intricate cuts and dies, the more modern day Hallmarks, and samples from every decade in between.

"Every one of them is special to me," Klein said.

Sifting through Klein's Valentine's Card Collection is like looking back in time.

"Oh my goodness, they have changed so much," Klein said.

For five generations, her family has collected the cards they've given to one another.

"My mother was a saver, and she saved them," Klein described how she followed in her mother's footsteps.

"I got started and couldn't quit," Klein laughed.

She suspects her children will do the same. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren have already joined in the fun.

Klein laughed just looking at the collection and all it stands for.

"I think I'm probably crazy for saving them all, but I just like them," Klein said.

When the day is done, she packs away the history of love in her little red suitcase, until next year, and so the tradition can be carried on to the next generation.

"It makes me feel loved," Klein said.
