EDMOND, Oklahoma -

An Edmond neighborhood is abuzz about what a couple of neighbors found.

Jim Null lives in the Faircloud Edition off Danforth and Coltrane. He says last week while he and a neighbor were walking their dogs around one of two neighborhood ponds, they found two large white ducks that had been decapitated.

Null says a group of four ducks showed up at the pond last Spring and neighbors had just taken the ducks in as pets. The ducks were friendly, and neighbors would feed them corn meal and bread.

Null says he notified police and animal control about what he had found. He and the neighbors are so angry, they are offering a $300 reward to anyone with information.

"Seen a lot things in my life that were worse," the retired Vietnam Fighter Pilot said. "But it is disturbing because we know what if pets start to disappear now? I think it's not a stretch but there are some people in jail that started off abusing animals, and it's not the right thing to do."

Neighbor Billie Lewis says she is heartbroken. She says she would call the ducks and they would walk into her yard so she could feed them.

"I'm devastated, I just miss them so much," Lewis said.

If you have any information on who committed the crime, you're asked to call (405) 216-0451.
