OKLAHOMA CITY -

Police arrested one suspect and are looking for two more in the robbery and assault of a trucker Sunday morning at a truck stop in Oklahoma City.

According to police, at about 8 a.m., officers responded to the incident in the 1900 block of E. Reno. As an officer was driving through the Checkers Truck Stop parking lot, he was flagged down by a trucker who said he had just been robbed, and the suspects were leaving in a pickup truck.

The officer was able to locate the suspect vehicle. When he stopped the pickup, he arrested the driver, later identified as 41-year-old Christopher Day. But two passengers in the pickup, a man and a woman, took off running on foot.

The victim told police he was asleep in the sleeper part of his semi when someone began knocking on his door. When he ignored the knock, he said the suspects opened the door, jumped into the truck, and asked him for money.

The victim was able to call 911 before one suspect grabbed his phone and broke it. He said the two male suspects held him down while the female suspect reached into his pocket and took his wallet and a key to his semi.

The victim said when they let him go, he grabbed a knife and told the suspects to get out of the truck. That's when Day began punching him in the face.

The three suspects then ran away from the scene.

Officers say they found the victim's wallet in the suspect vehicle. Day was taken into custody on charges of first-degree robbery and assault and battery.

Police are still looking for the two other suspects.
