A suspected drunk driver slammed into several cars at a busy metro intersection. News 9 hears from a survivor whose SUV is smashed beyond recognition.

When you look at Hazel Outley's SUV, it's hard to believe she walked away from the accident. The driver of the Hummer came from behind going at least 55 miles per hour.

"It was a miracle," said Outley. "Gods hand was on me."

It was around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Outley was waiting at the traffic signal at Northwest Expressway and Portland.

"I should have been dead. That's what everybody said. I should have been dead," said Outley.

Hazel says she wasn't feeling well Friday morning, so she left her overnight shift at Clearwater Paper on Reno and Council early. She checked into Integris Baptist hospital off Northwest Expressway.

"I was having chest pain. They looked at me, prescribed me, and discharged me," said Outley.

As she was waiting at the stop light, the driver of a Humvee came barreling towards her, and at least two other vehicles including a semi.

"After that, I was in the middle of the street," said Outley.

Hazel believes she blacked out on impact. Her Honda CRV was destroyed. The entire back end and right side mangled, windows shattered, and rear seats jammed towards the front.  The only thing untouched from the impact was her driver's seat.

"I was just praying in my head, ‘Oh my God,'" said Outley. "Thank you God. I'm still here."

For Hazel, this accident hit a little closer to home. Her friend lost her grandmother to a drunk driver in 2007.

"I would have never thought it would happen to me," said Outley.

There was a passenger inside that Hummer. Hazel says he tried helping her after the accident. The suspected drunk driver was arrested on the scene, and only had a few scratches. His name has not yet been released.
