OKLAHOMA CITY -

Oklahoma City police arrested a woman for grand larceny at a southwest Oklahoma City hospital.

Cherie Erickson, 58, was taken into custody at the Integris Southwest Medical Center of Oklahoma Tuesday evening for attempting to steal an estimated $500 in medical supplies.

Police responded to the grand larceny call around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. On arrival, police visited with Integris Security Officer Ryan Phillips.

According to Phillips, Erickson admitted herself into the emergency room but no illness or condition was identified by medical personnel. At the time of discharge, Erickson was caught by a nurse as she was taking medical supplies from the cabinets in her room. Security confronted Erickson as she attempted to leave with the medical supplies, and she was detained until police arrived.

Police were notified that Erickson had a warrant for her arrest for larceny of merchandise. Erickson was book in the Oklahoma County Jail.

According to the report, police had suspicion that Erickson may be a methamphetamine user, because "she could not hold still or focus on any tasks."
