OKLAHOMA CITY -

Many schools across the state have decided to cancel classes Friday, following Thursday's winter weather.

Edmond, El Reno, Moore, Mustang, Norman, Yukon Public Schools are all closed on Friday. Oklahoma City Public Schools were already closed for parent-teacher conferences, which will continue as scheduled.

OKCPS Spokesperson Tierney Tinnin says Central Office and all school sites will be open to parents during regular school hours. If parents have additional questions or concerns, they should contact their child's school directly.

Tinnin said as of Friday, the school district has one day that is required to be made up. The district leadership is developing a plan to address the missed day, and will communicate the plan to students, staff, parents and the community once it has been approved by the OKCPS Board of Education.
