This bitterly cold and snowy weather may have shut down several schools and businesses, but it's not keeping local law enforcement from tracking down wanted criminals.

News 9 joined some members of the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office warrant team on this snowy and cold afternoon, as they tried to track down a few fugitives.

It may be freezing outside, but that is not stopping these deputies from tracking down this wanted man.

"No its not," said Sgt. Larry Grant. "We're out doing our job. This isn't going to stop us."

Armed with weapons and warm weather gear, they head off. First stop, his last known address. As it turns out, he's not here, but luckily these deputies get a tip to where he may be staying. So it's off to the next location.

Despite braving the cold in the name of justice, they usually don't get a very warm welcome when they come knocking on someone's door.

"Some of them aren't very pleasant," said Grant. "And then it's usually the proverbial nobody's here type thing and we take it from there."

Yes, just like the postman, neither rain nor sleet nor snow will keep these guys from showing up at your door - if you have a warrant out for your arrest. But on this day, two of their fugitives are nowhere to be found. They do find one woman wanted for concealing stolen property, and haul her off to jail.

"They can run from us but they can't hide," said Grant. "We're going to catch up to you sooner or later. If you know you have a warrant, go turn yourself in - that way you don't meet us."

So far this week the warrant team has been able to round up more than half a dozen people on outstanding warrants, and clear more than a dozen cases.
