Oklahoma City Man Charged With Multiple Child Sex Crimes

An Oklahoma City man was arrested on two counts of committing sexual acts with children and possession of child pornography.

Police arrested 41-year-old James Polk at his home in the 2400 block of NW 36^th Terrace in OKC on Thursday afternoon. Polk's arrest comes after a nearly two-month long investigation, stemming back to late November.  

On Nov. 24, police responded to a call about a possible child pornography incident.

The caller told police that a friend of hers was asked to Polk's house. While there, the caller, who wanted to remain anonymous, told police that Polk showed her friend several videos involving adults and children engaged in sexual acts.

She said her friend could see that Polk had "hundreds upon hundreds" of videos on an external hard drive. The caller said her friend told her that one video showed a 3-year-old child with a 35-year-old man. In another video, Polk himself was engaging in sexual acts with a 15-year-old child.

She also told police that another friend told her that his 12-year-old son complained that Polk "showed him how to masturbate".

The caller said that Polk told her he likes to "cruise" around Trosper Park and Lake Stanley Draper, and she said she believes he has two other friends in their 40s that are engaged in similar activities.

Police say they did not respond at the time of the call so as not to tip Polk off, giving him the time to destroy any potential evidence. Police also said they did not believe at the time that there was a victim who lived at his residence.

The caller told police that she lived near Polk, but had not witnessed anything herself. She also said that the friend that initially told her about the videos was autistic and afraid he would get in trouble along with Polk.

Polk was finally arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on Jan. 30. His bond was set at $120,000. No other details were released in the report.
