2 Former Detention Center Employees Arrested

Two employees at the Oklahoma County Detention Center have been arrested on charges of assault and battery.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says in a news release that it has fired 29-year-old John Jacobson and 29-year-old Jose Botello for an incident that occurred at the detention center on Dec. 1.

Charges of assault and battery have been filed with the Oklahoma Count District Attorney's Office. It's unclear if the men have attorneys.

"When the allegations surrounding this incident were brought to my attention an internal investigation was conducted immediately", said Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel. "At the conclusion of the probe I terminated both of these men."

Charges of assault & battery have been presented, and filed at the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office.
