The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a Tulsa man died after crashing his 1999 Chevrolet truck about five miles west of Tulsa on a rural Osage County road Sunday evening.

The OHP said Teddy Adkins was driving north on North 52nd West Avenue just north of West 55th Place North when his truck left the road. The truck went down an embankment, through two fences and hit a tree at about 5:45 p.m.

Troopers said Adkins, 56, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The OHP said in the collision report that Adkins' condition at the time of the crash is unknown, and the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office will determine cause of death.
