Arctic Blast Returns Sunday Night

Posted: Updated:
After yesterday's near-perfect weather, today will follow suit. After yesterday's near-perfect weather, today will follow suit.

It's a tale of two days! After yesterday's near-perfect weather, today will follow suit. Highs will rise into the low and mid 60s this afternoon despite a weak wind shift just after lunch. That wind shift will turn light south winds to light north winds this afternoon at 5 to 15 mph. You can then wave goodbye to the warmth.

Our next arctic blast arrives around 10 p.m. tonight. The cold front will move into northern Oklahoma accompanied by sustained north winds at 20 to 30 mph and gusts around 40 mph. Wind chills will drop into the single digits tomorrow morning and stay in the teens tomorrow afternoon. While winds will weaken some tomorrow afternoon, you can still expect gusts around 20 to 25 mph.

There's a VERY slight possibility of a few flurries in western and southwestern Oklahoma early Tuesday morning, but don't expect much, if any accumulation. Most folks wont see anything.

Normal temperatures return by mid week, just in time for a pattern shift late week into early next week that could signal decent precipitation chances early next week. Stay tuned and stay with News 9!
