Suspect Killed, Two OHP Troopers Wounded In Overnight Shooting

DEL CITY, Oklahoma -

A suspect was killed and two highway patrol troopers were shot following a pursuit early Saturday morning in Del City.

The chase started on I-35 and ended near the I-40 and Sunnylane exit.

Investigators shut down Sunnylane Road as they collected evidence.

Highway patrol officials will not comment on why they believe the suspect opened fire on the troopers.

"Both troopers were shot; one in the face, the other in the leg. They have been transported to the hospital where they are in stable condition. The suspect was shot as well. We can confirm that he is deceased," Lt. Brian Orr said. 

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspect identities are unknown.
