A 25-year-old Watonga woman is fighting the battle of her life.

Ashley Baker says she discovered a large mole on her right forearm a year and a half ago. That mole quickly turned into a deadly form of cancer. Her family says several months ago doctors advised her to abort a pregnancy, in order for them to treat her cancer aggressively.

She refused to abort and her son "Dawson" was born seven-weeks ago.

Last week, Baker's family says she was accepted into a cancer treatment program at the famed M.D. Cancer Hospital in Houston. Because of her illness, family finances are low. A medical fund in Ashley Baker's name has been established at Tinker Federal Credit Union.

"I'm going through what I'm going through," Baker sobbed Wednesday afternoon after treatment at an Oklahoma Cancer Treatment Center.

"But I know I am blessed with what I have, even if it's not going to be much longer," she said.
