Relatives of a Cushing woman attacked by an armed robber are pushing for someone to come forward with information about the crime.

Cathy Exton is in ICU at a Tulsa hospital after the Sunday night robbery at Steer Inn Family Restaurant in Cushing.

"She needs prayer, if you all could give it to her," said Luke, a family member who did not want to give his last name for fear of retaliation.

The robber attacked Exton from behind, pistol-whipping her head and then roughing her up even more when she hit the ground.

Surveillance video showed the man with a gun in his hand sneaking up to ambush Exton as she closed up the restaurant.

Cushing Police edited out the beating from the video because it was too graphic.

"I immediately just burst into tears and tried to find a way to get to Tulsa to see her," Luke recalled.

The robber got away with two money bags. Luke said Exton was left with a busted eye, bruises, cuts and bleeding on the brain.

"She was fighting, trying to get the money back from the guy who took the money and he stepped on her hand and broke two of her fingers and ripped most of the skin off of her hand, just filleted it," Luke explained.

Exton's family said she is a strong, loving person and a big part of Cushing. They said she is a hard worker at the Steer Inn restaurant and the roofing business she runs on the side.

"She's a great person. She's loved by the whole community. I mean I'm sure if everybody in Cushing could go up there, they would to support her because she put so many hours in at Steer Inn," Luke added.

Exton's family believes someone knows something about the robbery and they are begging anyone to come forward.

"Just to find the guy who did it and bring them justice before he does it to someone else. She didn't deserve that, no one does," explained Luke.

Crime Stoppers of Cushing is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Call (918)-225-1212 if you can help out.
